Beijing Airport the second busiest airport in Asia, with about 1100 flights each day. Almost all major airlines fly there, with long haul flights from Frankfurt, London-Heathrow, Los Angeles, New York, Paris-CDG, San Francisco, Vancouver, Chicago, Dubai, Sydney, Toronto, Washington and others.

The airport is 20 kilometres (12 miles) from Beijing. The Beijing underground is being extended to the airport in time for the games. Coaches run to most parts of Beijing and new expressways are also being built.

If you have two or three weeks to spare, consider travelling from Hong Kong to Beijing on a guided tour, allowing an in depth look at China old and new.

by Car

Not a practical option, unless you can afford to hire a car with a driver.
