Jody Cundy won the LC2 1km time trial, Darren Kenny and Simon Richardson won the pursuit, and Mark Bristow set a new world record in the LC1 1km.

People of all ages enjoy cycling. You can race in a velodrome or on a dirt race track, or get close to nature on cycle trails and quiet back-roads.
Cycling is most popular in summer but is an all-year sport. As safe as walking, cycling lets you hear, see and smell the countryside. With tandems, trailers or seats, it is suitable for children of any age, the blind and people with disabilities. Ride your bike instead of driving, and you’ll save fuel, money, and reduce road and parking congestion. It’s good whole body aerobic exercise, will help burn off excess weight, and is easier on the joints than jogging or running
With all these advantages, it is not surprising cycling is the number 3 sporting activity in the UK, and an Olympic and Paralympic sport. With thousands of clubs, one will be close. So give it a go!

As with any sport, joining a club is a good way to get going in the best way, with help, advice, training and organised rides. British Cycling lists over 1000 cycling clubs and the Cycle Touring Club has 250 CTC groups.
